Having just clinched the Dunlop Aprilia Superteens 2014 championship title and fresh from a podium finish wildcard ride at TT Circuit Assen in the Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup, Rory is set to head out to Spain next week after being invited to try out alongside some of the world’s best up and coming young riders for a place in the 2015 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup championship.

The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup selection event follows on from Rory’s amazing Superteen championship win at Donington Park last weekend where at the penultimate round he clinched the title with two race wins on his 13th birthday followed up by another race win and new lap record.

Two Moriwaki 250 Junior Cup wildcard rides this year also gave Rory a taste of riding a four stroke motorcycle for the first time. With respectful sixth and fifth place finishes at Brands Hatch GP circuit and an impressive third place podium finish at TT Circuit Assen demonstrating his ability to learn new circuits, a new motorcycle and to relay relevant feedback in order to find a good race set up in a short period of time.

Following his latest championship win, Rory had been offered a Moto 3 ride to compete at the final round of BSB Motostar at Brands Hatch, as well as being invited to appear on a famous BBC TV magazine programme.  However as both the filming and Motostar events clash with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup selection event in Spain, Rory has decided to focus his attention on doing his absolute best at the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup event.

Rory said:  “This is an amazing opportunity for me to try and win a place in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup – I’m really looking forward to riding at the Guadix circuit at the selection event as I have never been there before but I like to learn new tracks because it is a challenge – I can’t wait to fly to the event with my dad next week”.

Rory’s final race outing of the year will be at the Mallory Park Race of the Year, held on November 2, where he is planning to make his debut on a full Moto 3 specification KTM RC250R.
