On Saturday morning it was a wet practice but it went well.

Sunday morning was dry for qualifying and I managed to qualify in second, 0.256 seconds off pole!

I got a good start in race one and led for most of the race, getting my first win of the weekend! I also got the fastest lap of the race, a 1.48.178. I got a good start again in Race two and led for quite a few laps until I ran wide at Charlies 2 and lost a few positions but battled my way back up to finish in second, 0.253 behind the leader.

We had new grid positions for Monday’s races based on our best Sunday lap times so I was starting from third on the grid. I didn’t get such a good start in Race one but managed to make a move for the lead before the end of the first lap.  We had great battles for the first few laps then I managed to up my pace and pull a lead and I finished with another win – 7.8 seconds ahead of second place and took the fastest lap of the race at 1.46.237.  In race two I got an excellent start but ran wide again at Charlies 2, I managed to recover and take the lead once again and worked hard at putting some fast laps in to break the tow and took my third win of the weekend and the best lap time of the weekend, a 1.45.701!

It was a really great weekend with lots of close racing in every race – can’t wait to watch it on TV! Monday’s races will be shown on MotorsTV (Sky 447, Virgin 545, Freeview 240HD) on Thursday 5th of June at 9:30pm.  Coverage from all rounds is available to view via the Thundersport i-player.

Also, coverage of the Scottish Lightweight Championship Round 1 from Knockhill will be shown on MotorsTV tomorrow night (Thursday 29th) at 8.00pm (me riding my Honda GP125).
