With the start of the season delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Rory Skinner is looking to make his debut on the Tysers Yamaha YZF-R6 in August, after the revised and shortened Quattro Group British Supersport Championship calendar was released today.

A planned six round, 13 race, championship is now set to start at Donington Park on the weekend of 7-9 August and is scheduled to end with three races at Brands Hatch on 16-18 October. The revised schedule takes place at five venues, with Assen, Cadwell Park, Knockhill and Thruxton all missing from the original 12 round calendar planned before the virus outbreak.

“It goes without saying that I can’t wait to meet up with everyone at Team Appleyard Macadam Racing and get back racing again,” says Rory. “I had a good pre-season out in Spain and felt ready to go before the pandemic put a hold on everything. I’ve been training hard on my mountain bike in this downtime to keep my fitness levels up, but hopefully I can get out on my R6 practice bike before the official BSB test at the end of next month to get my bike sharpness up again.

“It’s disappointing that there’s no round at Knockhill this year, because it’s my local track and I love the place, but it’s a good calendar with some tracks I really like. It’s going to be an intense season with six rounds in 11 weeks but I have a great team behind me and I can’t wait to get back on a bike again.”

The season will be preceded with a test day in late July.
